About the Author
Dr. Tapan Sengupta is a doctorate from Glasgow University, UK having worked with the late Dr. R A Crowson for four years, 1964-1968 and continued his postdoctoral research at the University of Alberta, Canada. During 1964-1983, he visited and worked in several museums and universities in the UK, Europe, USA, Canada & Japan. Sengupta worked at the Zoological Survey of India for 21 years as In-Charge, Coleoptera Section, Insect Division and retired deputy director.
